Before storage, dinner, laundry, and air-conditioning pushed our expensive electricity use into those hours. Now the solar battery carries the refrigerator, lights, Wi-Fi, and often the dishwasher. I usually watch the battery percentage drift downward instead of watching the meter climb. On sunny days, it still has 45% to 55% remaining at bedtime, which gives me plenty of confidence overnight.

My monthly bill fell by roughly 30% after installation, although weather and seasonal usage make the number vary. Summer savings were especially noticeable. The battery does not eliminate the utility bill, but it has made peak-hour pricing much less painful and improved my solar self-consumption. I export less excess energy and use more of what my panels actually produce.

I did have one small troubleshooting moment. One morning the app reported that the battery was not charging, even though the panels were producing. I checked the settings and found a temporary grid-charge schedule had been enabled after a firmware update. Disabling it restored normal solar charging immediately. That experience made me appreciate having clear controls rather than treating the system like a sealed appliance.

That feels like a worthwhile investment.
