Since installing my solar battery, evenings have become much less expensive. I have a modest rooftop solar system, and before adding storage, I sent most of my midday production back to the grid for a small credit. Then, after dinner, I bought electricity when rates were highest. That felt backwards, especially during hot summer months when the air conditioner runs well into the evening.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. After a brief outage, the battery stayed in standby mode longer than I expected. The app showed it was online, but it did not immediately discharge. I eventually realized the backup reserve was set too high, so the system was protecting that stored energy. Lowering the reserve solved it, and I appreciated being able to adjust the setting myself.

For me, the value is not just emergency backup. The daily peak-hour savings make the solar battery useful even when the grid is working normally. It has made my household energy use feel more predictable.
