Running my solar battery for six months has changed evenings. Before installation, our electric bill jumped whenever peak rates started. My monthly bill fell from roughly one hundred eighty dollars to ninety. Results vary, obviously, because cloudy weather still means more grid charging. Still, the battery storage system has made usage noticeably more predictable. I also appreciate seeing solar production and battery discharge in real-time. The app is not perfect, but its energy graphs are useful. They helped me notice our old dehumidifier was consuming surprising power. We now run it around noon, when solar output is strongest. That small scheduling change improved our overall solar self-consumption considerably.
My only real hiccup happened during the first week of operation. The battery stopped discharging one evening, although the house remained powered. I checked the inverter display and saw a communication warning immediately. Cycling the connection between the battery and inverter cleared it. I also tightened the cable plugs, then watched performance for an hour. Since then, the warning has not returned or affected normal operation. I was glad the system failed safely instead of behaving unpredictably.
Installation itself was straightforward, though the electrician needed careful cable planning. The unit occupies a small utility-room corner beside our electrical panel. It makes a soft hum, but we cannot hear it. During outages, the backup power feature is probably my favorite benefit. We tested it once, and lights came back without drama.
