Recently I replaced our lead-acid backup bank with a 10kWh LiFePO4 solar battery, and the surprise has been how much quieter and less demanding the system feels.

I checked the monitoring app, restarted the Wi-Fi dongle, and found the inverter had switched to backup reserve mode after a brief grid flicker. Once I changed the reserve setting back to 20%, charging resumed. It was a small lesson: a solar battery is low maintenance, not no maintenance.
For me, the best part is having predictable backup power without thinking about it every day. The LiFePO4 chemistry feels like a sensible long-term choice, and I would rather expand the battery later than buy a noisy generator.
