growatt inverter 6kw 3 phase

Running our solar battery for six months has changed the way I think about electricity bills. We installed a 10kWh lithium battery alongside a growatt inverter 6kw 3 phase, mainly to avoid buying power during the evening peak.

Before the battery, our solar panels exported plenty of energy around lunchtime, then we paid expensive grid rates after dinner. Now the battery charges from surplus solar during the day and usually carries the house through the peak period. On a normal sunny day, it reaches 100% by mid-afternoon, and we run the refrigerator, lights, internet equipment, and television from stored power until bedtime. Our monthly bill has dropped by roughly 35–45%, depending on the weather and how much heating or cooling we use. The biggest improvement is not seeing the electricity meter climb quickly between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The system has also made me pay attention to energy habits. I run the washing machine and dishwasher while solar production is high, then leave the battery for the evening. That combination of self-consumption and peak-rate avoidance seems more valuable than simply exporting everything to the grid.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. After a firmware update, the monitoring app showed the battery at 0% even though the inverter display showed about 60%. The house was still operating normally, so it was not a power failure, but I was worried the battery had stopped charging. Restarting the communications dongle and waiting about ten minutes fixed the display. Since then, I check the inverter screen occasionally rather than relying entirely on the app.

The battery has not eliminated every bill, especially through several cloudy winter days, but it has made our solar investment feel much more practical. For me, the real benefit is predictable evening power, quieter grid dependence, and better use of electricity we generate ourselves.
