Running my solar battery system for several months has changed the way I think about our electricity bill. We had rooftop solar, but before adding storage, I still bought expensive power every evening. My favorite practical detail is the reserve setting. I keep about 25% capacity unused so a short outage does not leave us completely powerless. We have had one brief grid interruption during a storm, and the battery took over without any noticeable flicker. That was more reassuring than I expected.
That combination of peak-hour savings and automatic backup is why I am pleased with the solar battery. It feels less like a gadget and more like a useful part of our home every single day.
