Very early on the first morning after installing my home battery, I noticed the inverter drawing almost nothing from the grid. I also like seeing the battery state of charge on the app instead of guessing. It usually reaches 100% before lunch in summer, then settles near 25% by bedtime after the peak period. I set a reserve of 30% so the system can keep the refrigerator and Wi-Fi running during an outage. That reserve has not made me nervous about running short; the battery simply starts charging again the next morning.
My only annoying moment came during a cloudy week when the battery stopped discharging at night. The app showed a communication warning, although solar production looked normal. I power-cycled the inverter and reseated the battery cable, then waited five minutes. Everything returned to normal, and support later confirmed it was a loose data connector rather than a cell problem.
Since then, I check the app weekly and keep the connectors protected. The result is simple: lower peak-hour bills and useful backup power without changing habits.
