Even after adding solar panels, my evening electricity bill still bothered me. Most of our household use happens after sunset—cooking dinner, running the dishwasher, charging phones, and occasionally using the air conditioner. One minor annoyance was a warning in the monitoring app after a firmware update. The battery continued working, but the state-of-charge display froze at one percentage for several hours. Power-cycling the communications gateway fixed it, and the installer confirmed the battery itself was fine.

After several months, I appreciate the system most when electricity prices are high. The solar battery quietly shifts my energy use into the cheaper, self-generated hours, which feels more useful than simply watching solar production numbers climb.
