That minor scare taught me not to ignore cable strain relief or rely entirely on remote monitoring. I now glance at state-of-charge and battery temperature every few days, especially during hot weather.
What I like most is the predictability. The controller usually finishes charging by early afternoon, and the battery quietly handles evening loads. I left room to expand later. Lower bills and brief outage backup make it worthwhile for our home.
