I notice the difference most on hot days: the heat pump, refrigerator, and lights are all drawing from stored energy while utility prices are highest. My monthly bill has fallen from around $180 to $95, although weather and rates vary. The battery has not eliminated my bill, but it has made the expensive part of my usage much smaller.

The app shows state of charge clearly, and I got a little amped watching it climb past 90 percent on sunny afternoons. I set a 20 percent reserve so there is backup energy for an outage. That setting has already proved useful. During a short storm-related outage, the transfer happened quietly, and my Wi-Fi, freezer, and a few lights stayed on. I only noticed when the neighbor texted that their power was out.

My one frustrating moment came in the first week. The battery stopped discharging overnight, even though the dashboard showed plenty of charge. I found that I had accidentally enabled a time-of-use schedule with a start time after midnight. After correcting it, the inverter resumed normal operation. Customer support confirmed the setting and replied within a day.

For me, the best part is using my own solar generation when grid power costs the most. Lower bills feel practical, not flashy, each month.
