Using my solar battery storage system for six months has changed how I think about our electricity bill. Before installation, I shifted laundry and dishwashing into sunny hours, but real life got in the way. Now the battery charges from our rooftop solar panels and carries us through evening peak hours.
The biggest difference appears between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. We cook dinner, run the dishwasher, watch television, and use lights without drawing much from the grid. On my latest bill, peak-hour usage fell from about 310 kWh to 118 kWh. The total bill dropped roughly $54. That is a steady monthly saving and makes the battery feel worthwhile.
I chose a 10-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery after comparing home energy storage options. The installer completed the wiring and inverter setup in one day. My only hiccup was the monitoring app showing zero battery discharge while the house was using stored energy. Rebooting the gateway fixed it, and the history filled in after about an hour. It has been accurate since then, though I still check the physical meter when something looks odd.
The system is quiet, and I barely notice it in the garage. On cloudy days, I reserve some capacity for evening use instead of chasing maximum solar self-consumption. That habit has also kept us from grid power during short outages. I also like seeing the charge level each morning, knowing exactly what yesterday’s sunshine accomplished.
For anyone considering wulills or another solar battery brand, I would focus less on flashy app screenshots and more on usable capacity, warranty, and local support. My experience has been practical: lower peak charges, more predictable evenings, and fewer worries about rising electricity rates. The battery has not eliminated my bill, but it has made solar power much more useful every day.
