Having installed a solar battery at my house last spring, I expected lower electricity bills, but the biggest surprise was how much calmer evenings feel.

I changed the reserve from 20% to 10%, waited a minute, and output returned. Since then I have kept that reserve at 15%, which feels like a better compromise between backup protection and savings.
What I like most is the predictable routine. I check the solar battery status with coffee, schedule the dishwasher before dinner, and let the system handle the rest. It has not eliminated my electric bill, nor made me energy independent, but it has turned excess sunshine into something useful every evening.
