Since then, I check the battery status once a week and keep the vents clear.

For me, the value is not just emergency backup. It is the daily shift of solar energy from midday to evening, when rates hurt most. I am considering adding another battery eventually, but I want to track a full winter first. Right now, the system feels practical, quiet, and easy to live with. It has made solar power feel more useful rather than merely exported back onto the grid.
