Our solar battery has been running for six months, and the biggest difference is what happens between 4 and 9 p.m. Before installation, our house pulled heavily from the grid as soon as the sun went down. For me, the real benefit is not energy independence; it is avoiding the daily peak-rate bite. The battery quietly does its job, and I notice that most when the monthly bill arrives.
