Friday was the first day I really noticed what my home battery could do. Before installing solar energy storage, my panels produced plenty of electricity during the afternoon, but I still bought power from the grid every evening when rates were highest. After checking the settings, I found I had accidentally enabled a delayed control function while experimenting with an “offdelay timer 12vdc 0 to 10 sec.” That setting was unrelated to normal battery operation, but it explained the delay. I reset the control schedule, restarted the inverter, and everything worked normally.
After six months, my main takeaway is simple: solar panels save me money during the day, but the home battery makes those savings useful after sunset. I still watch the app and adjust my reserve before bad weather, yet the system now feels like a dependable part of my daily routine.
