I installed a solar battery at my home last summer, mainly to stop buying expensive electricity during the evening peak. My 3 kW rooftop system already covered most daytime use, but our cooking, fans, television, and water pump ran after sunset, when grid rates hurt. Adding a 150Ah battery with a hybrid inverter changed that routine more than I expected.
