lithium leisure battery 150ah

I installed my solar energy storage system last spring, mainly to stop giving away so much electricity during the day and then buying it back during expensive evening hours. My setup is fairly modest: eight rooftop panels, a hybrid inverter, and a 7.5 kWh lithium battery. I also keep a separate lithium leisure battery 150ah for camping, but I quickly learned that it is not a substitute for a properly matched home battery storage system.

The biggest difference has been peak-hour savings. Before adding storage, my household electricity use jumped between 5 and 9 p.m., when we were cooking, running the dishwasher, and watching television. Now the solar battery charges from surplus generation around lunchtime and supplies most of that evening demand. On a sunny day, the battery usually reaches full charge by mid-afternoon. By bedtime, it is often down to 35–45 percent, depending on whether I used the oven or washing machine.

My monthly bill has fallen by roughly 30 to 40 percent compared with the same months last year. The exact saving changes with the weather, but the improvement is obvious. I still import electricity overnight, especially in winter, though my smart meter shows far fewer expensive peak-hour imports.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. The battery stopped discharging after a firmware update, even though the monitoring app showed plenty of stored energy. I restarted the inverter and checked the battery settings, but the problem remained. The installer corrected a backup reserve setting remotely within a few minutes. Since then, the system has been dependable.

I am particularly pleased that the solar battery system works quietly in the background. I do not have to remember to switch anything manually, and the app makes energy flows easy to understand. For me, the practical value is not total energy independence; it is using more of my own solar power and making evening electricity noticeably cheaper.
