I also changed the dishwasher timer and stopped charging my car during peak rate periods.

Installation was fairly painless. My electrician mounted the inverter beside the existing breaker panel and added a dedicated battery disconnect. The only awkward part was carrying the 220-pound unit through a narrow side gate. I had initially searched for a "lithium battery charger 12v", because I thought I needed a small backup charger for maintenance. My installer explained that the wall battery uses its own battery management system and inverter charging circuit, not a random 12V charger. That clarification probably saved me from buying the wrong equipment.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment in July. The battery stopped discharging overnight, and the app showed a communication warning. I power-cycled the inverter, checked the ethernet cable, and found that a firmware update had paused automatic operation. After installing it, the system resumed normally. Since then, it has been quiet and dependable, with about 8.4 kWh usable most nights. It will not eliminate my winter bill, but keeping power off the meter is the feature I value.
