I installed a 10 kWh LiFePO4 solar battery last summer, mainly to stop buying expensive electricity during the evening peak. My rooftop solar panels usually finish producing power around 5 p.m., just when our household starts cooking, running the dishwasher, and using lights. Before the battery, those hours noticeably pushed up my monthly bill.
The setup was simpler than I expected. The installer mounted the battery beside the inverter in our utility room, connected it to the solar system, and configured it to charge during the day and discharge between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. I had compared several options online, including systems described with the search phrase “lifepo4 али,” but I ultimately chose a locally supported battery with a clear warranty and monitoring app.
The first full month was the most satisfying. Our evening electricity use came almost entirely from stored solar energy, and the bill dropped by about 30 percent. That number changes with cloudy weather, but the practical difference is obvious: the battery usually reaches 100 percent by late afternoon, then falls to roughly 25–35 percent before morning. I still keep a reserve setting so it does not completely drain overnight.
One minor troubleshooting moment happened during a storm. The inverter stopped discharging, even though the battery showed plenty of charge. The app reported a grid protection event, which turned out to be a brief voltage fluctuation. After the grid stabilized, the system resumed automatically. I appreciated not having to reset anything manually.
What I like most is the quiet, predictable performance. There is no fuel, no engine noise, and no daily maintenance beyond checking the monitoring app occasionally. The solar battery has made our energy use feel more controlled, especially during peak-rate hours. It has not eliminated every electricity charge, but it has made our solar investment much more useful after sunset, and I would seriously consider adding another battery if our evening consumption grows.
