I installed my first home solar battery spring, and the surprise was how calmer my electricity use became. My rooftop panels covered daytime loads, but I was still buying expensive grid power every evening. I discovered the inverter had switched into a priority mode during a firmware update. After rebooting it and restoring self-consumption mode, everything worked normally. I appreciated that the lithium iron phosphate chemistry did not need attention or watering.
For me, the value is simple: solar production gets used later, peak rates hurt less, and the battery runs in the background. I am considering adding another module before summer, not because the first one failed, but because our electric car will add evening demand.
