Running my growatt spf 6000 LiFePO4 Battery has changed how I use solar power. I installed it last spring after watching my evening electricity bills climb, especially when the air conditioner and induction cooker were running together.
The installation was less dramatic than I expected. I already had rooftop solar panels, so the electrician mainly mounted the inverter, connected the battery bank, and checked the transfer settings.
During the first week, I kept checking the monitoring screen like a nervous parent. It showed the battery charging from surplus solar before noon and discharging after dinner. At first I was surprised how much of our routine load it covered: refrigerator, Wi-Fi, lights, security cameras, and sometimes the washing machine.
That timing is the main reason I noticed savings quickly. Before storage, my utility meter raced during the evening peak period, even though the panels produced plenty earlier. Now the solar battery holds that midday energy and supplies our house when rates are highest.
On an average sunny day, I see the battery reach roughly 90% by early afternoon. It usually falls to about 35% by bedtime, depending on whether we cook, use fans, or run the heat pump. That cycle has cut my peak-hour consumption enough that my monthly bill is typically $35 to $50 lower. It is not a spectacular overnight zero bill, but it is predictable, and I value predictable savings more than a flashy estimate.
One minor hiccup happened during a cloudy spell. The inverter stopped discharging at the level I expected, and the battery alarm beeped once. I found the low-temperature protection setting had been enabled too conservatively in the app. I changed it carefully. Normal discharge returned the next afternoon.
For me, the biggest benefit is not simply battery capacity. It is using my own solar energy after sunset instead of buying expensive grid power. The system has made our household consumption calmer, and I pay much closer attention to energy habits now.
