Replacing my old lead-acid battery with a growatt 24v spf 3000tl lifepo4 battery has made the biggest difference to my small rooftop solar setup. Now I schedule the dishwasher and washing machine after dinner without seeing the peak-rate spike. Based on my monitoring app, evening grid consumption has dropped by roughly 6 to 8 kilowatt-hours on good days. That translates to around $1.50 to $2.00 saved per day in my tariff area, not a dramatic windfall but noticeable over a month.
One troubleshooting moment happened during a week of cloudy weather. The inverter beeped overnight and showed a low-voltage warning. I initially panicked, then found the battery had reached its reserve limit after several low-production days. I reduced the overnight load and let the grid recharge it once. Since then, I keep a larger backup reserve during winter and check daily.
