Replacing my old grid-only setup with a home solar battery changed the way I think about electricity bills. My final cost was higher than the cheapest quote, but it included installation, a longer warranty, and proper battery backup wiring. I valued that more than saving a few hundred dollars upfront.

I did have to switch off the heat pump manually when the battery reached 28 percent; that was a useful reminder that storage capacity is not unlimited. Still, the system has been quiet, predictable, and easy to live with. That matters most.
