Installation was straightforward, although my electrician moved a conduit slightly to keep the inverter and battery cabinet in a cooler corner of the garage. Once commissioned, the monitoring app showed a full charge by early afternoon on sunny days. I programmed the battery to prioritize self-consumption and retain a 20% backup reserve, rather than export every spare kilowatt-hour.

The biggest difference appears on my evening bill. Previously, my household regularly crossed into the utility’s expensive peak period. Now the solar battery carries my refrigerator, lights, Wi-Fi, and cooling until bedtime. On a typical summer day, I see roughly 6–8 kWh discharged after sunset. My monthly bill dropped about $45–$70, depending on weather and laundry. It’s not a zero bill, but the savings are consistent and easy to notice.

I did have one minor scare during the first month. The app reported a communication fault after a router update, and the battery stopped following its schedule. It still powered the house, but began charging from the grid at the wrong time. Reconnecting the inverter to Wi-Fi and restarting the gateway fixed it in about ten minutes. Since then, I check the state-of-charge screen weekly, especially before storms. I like having backup power, but everyday peak-rate savings justified the purchase for me. The battery is quiet, the cabinet stays cool, and I haven’t needed maintenance beyond keeping the area clear. Storing solar locally has been more useful.
