X marks the spot where my evening electricity costs used to hurt. I initially worried something had failed, but the monitoring app showed three straight low-sun days and unusually high cooking use.
I adjusted the battery reserve setting slightly and stopped running the kettle and microwave together in the evening. Since then, the system has been steady, and that little lesson made me pay more attention to depth of discharge rather than treating the battery like an unlimited backup.
I am not claiming total energy independence. In winter, short daylight still means I buy some grid electricity, and battery efficiency losses are real.
