X marks the moment I stopped treating my solar panels as a daytime-only investment. After installing a home battery, my evening routine changed more than I expected. I live in a hot area, so the air conditioner used to start working hardest just when grid electricity became expensive. Now the battery stores surplus solar power through the afternoon and quietly runs the AC, lights, Wi-Fi router, and refrigerator after sunset.
