X marks the point where my evening electricity use stopped feeling like a penalty.
I installed an exide el 150 solar battery after watching my monthly bills climb, especially during the evening peak period. My rooftop solar system was already producing more power than we used during sunny afternoons, but that extra energy was mostly going back to the grid. I wanted to store it and use it after sunset instead.
The biggest improvement has been our daily routine. The battery charges from solar during the day, then powers the lights, fans, television, Wi-Fi router, and refrigerator through the evening. I try to run heavier appliances, such as the washing machine and water pump, before sunset while the panels are generating electricity. That simple change has made the battery last longer overnight.
Before adding the solar energy storage system, our bill was usually around ₹3,800 to ₹4,200 per month. It now sits closer to ₹2,300, depending on the weather and how much air-conditioning we use. The savings are not dramatic every single month, but over a year they are noticeable. More importantly, I am using more of my own solar power instead of buying electricity during expensive hours.
I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. For two evenings, the battery stopped discharging earlier than expected. The monitoring app showed a low reserve setting, which I had accidentally increased while exploring the backup options. Once I lowered that reserve level, the system returned to normal.
I like keeping a reserve for power cuts, so I left a sensible percentage protected. During one short outage, the changeover was quick enough that our router and lights stayed on. That practical reliability is just as valuable to me as the bill reduction.
Overall, the exide el 150 has made my home solar setup feel more useful, not just greener. It requires occasional checking, but the quieter evenings and lower peak-hour consumption make the investment worthwhile for my household.
