This unit is wall-mounted, quiet, and automatic; I rarely touch it beyond checking state of charge and monthly savings. The biggest practical benefit is predictability: I can run the dishwasher after sunset without wondering whether a short cloudy afternoon will create a nasty demand spike.

For anyone considering solar battery storage, I would budget for monitoring and leave some reserve capacity rather than chasing 100% self-sufficiency. My system has not eliminated the electric bill, but it has made our expensive hours noticeably cheaper and our evenings calmer overall.
