After installing my home solar battery last spring, I stopped thinking about electricity prices every evening. My setup is fairly simple: ten rooftop panels, a 10-kWh lithium battery, and a hybrid inverter in the utility room. I restored the reserve to 20%, restarted the inverter, and everything returned to normal within minutes.
The best feature is backup power. During a two-hour outage, the refrigerator, Wi-Fi, and lights stayed on without any drama. I noticed the switch, though I avoided using the oven or clothes dryer. Overall, this solar energy storage system has made our more deliberate about energy use. I watch the battery state of charge, but no longer feel helpless when peak rates arrive.
