2 years ago, I installed a 10kWh lithium solar battery beside my inverter, mainly to avoid buying expensive electricity in the evening. My rooftop solar system already covered most daytime use, but our cooking, laundry, and air-conditioning happened after sunset. The battery changed that pattern immediately. Instead of exporting cheap midday power and importing it again at peak rates, I now store the surplus and use it between roughly 4pm and 10pm.
The setup was easier than I expected, although I spent far too long comparing battery listings and specifications. My practical advice is to size the storage around your evening demand, not your panel size. The solar battery is quiet, automatic, and boring in the best possible way. I rarely think about it now, except when I compare the lower bill with my old electricity costs.
