Honestly, the biggest difference after installing my home solar battery was not the extra independence I expected; it was how much quieter my evening electricity routine became.

Dropping it back to 15% fixed the problem, although I learned not to change settings while the system is actively charging.
What I appreciate is the battery feels boring now. I still use the grid on rainy days, rather than pretending solar storage makes me fully off-grid. For my home, the win is simple: storing midday solar and using it when electricity costs most. That's the kind of battery payoff I was hoping for.
