Every evening, when the solar panels stop producing, my house quietly switches to the battery instead of pulling expensive electricity from the grid. I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. One morning, the battery showed “standby” while the panels were generating. I checked the inverter dashboard and found the reserve setting had been raised during a firmware update. The system was protecting that reserve, not failing. I lowered it to 25 percent, and charging resumed within minutes. Now I check state of charge, solar production, and grid consumption a few times each week. That habit feels manageable.
