Using my solar battery at home has changed the way I think about electricity bills, especially after sunset. I installed a 10kWh lithium home energy storage unit beside my inverter last spring, mainly to avoid expensive peak-hour rates.
Most days, the panels fill the battery by late afternoon. Once the utility switches into its evening pricing window, the battery takes over automatically. One cloudy afternoon, I noticed charging had stopped at 62 percent. I initially assumed something had failed, but the app showed a grid outage protection setting had paused solar input briefly. A reset through the inverter menu fixed it, and the battery resumed charging when the clouds thinned. That small scare taught me to check the status message before touching cables or calling support.
