The installation was less dramatic than I expected. The battery arrived with clear mounting instructions, and my installer finished the wall bracket, wiring, and monitoring setup in one afternoon. I did spend time checking the app because I wanted to understand the solar battery charge cycle rather than simply watch a percentage climb. By sunset, the unit usually showed a healthy charge from the day’s surplus, and it automatically supplied the house after dinner.

The biggest difference appears during peak hours. Before storage, our electric meter pulled expensive grid power when we cooked, ran the dishwasher, and used the heat pump after dark. Now the battery covers much of that period. My monthly bill has dropped by roughly 25–35% compared with similar weather last year, although I still have a small fixed utility charge and occasional cloudy weeks. It feels especially satisfying to see the battery discharging while the neighborhood is drawing heavily from the grid.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment in the first month. The app reported that the battery was waiting for a grid signal, and it stopped discharging at my programmed time. I checked the breaker, restarted the gateway, and found a loose network cable behind the router. After reconnecting it, the system resumed normally. That small hiccup reminded me that solar storage is still household equipment, not magic.

I now glance at the energy monitoring screen a few times each week. The battery is quiet, the backup reserve gives me reassurance during short outages, and I am using more of my own solar power instead of buying it.
