The biggest difference shows up between five and nine p.m. when rates jump here. Instead of buying expensive grid electricity then, I switch to stored energy automatically through the battery management app. I watched our first full month’s bill fall by about 38%, from roughly $164 to $102. That is not a dramatic headline number, but for our household it covered the battery payment and groceries.

I also noticed less dependence on utility power during short outages. One storm caused a brief outage while I was cooking. The lights flickered, the inverter clicked, and the battery carried everything without interrupting the induction cooktop.

The only hiccup came a few weeks later, when the monitoring app showed the battery at 100% while the house was still pulling from the grid. I checked the physical switches first, then restarted the gateway as the manual suggested. That cleared the warning, but it happened again the next evening. A support technician looked at the logs remotely and found a software update had left the backup reserve setting confused. After updating the firmware and setting a 20% reserve, everything behaved normally.

I appreciated the quick fix and avoided a service visit. Since then, I check charge levels twice weekly. Bright days fill it before lunch; cloudy days leave 60%. Even then, it carries us through evening peak rates. I may add another module for our electric car, but want real savings first.
