Solution Solar Battery
Using my solar battery after work has changed the way I think about electricity. Before installing the system, I generated plenty of solar power during the day but still bought expensive electricity from the grid in the evening. My setup uses a huawei sun2000 12ktl m2 inverter with a home battery, and the biggest improvement has been shifting that unused daytime energy into the hours when our household actually needs it.
The battery usually charges by early afternoon, especially on sunny days. Around 5 p.m., when the oven, lights, television, and heat pump start running, the system begins discharging automatically. I can see the power flow in the monitoring app, which is oddly satisfying. Instead of watching electricity come from the grid during peak pricing, I see the battery supplying most of the load. On a typical weekday, that saves me roughly €2 to €4 in peak-hour electricity costs. It does not sound dramatic every day, but across a month it has made a noticeable difference.
Our evening usage is fairly ordinary, so the battery normally gets us through dinner and much of the night. During cloudy winter weeks, it cannot cover everything, and I still import grid power. I appreciate that the system does not pretend otherwise; the savings depend heavily on weather, battery capacity, and our habits.
I did have one small troubleshooting moment. One morning, the battery showed standby even though the weather forecast promised sun. I checked the app and found that the minimum state-of-charge setting had been raised during a software update. After lowering it to my preferred reserve level, charging resumed normally.
The main lesson for me is that solar panels alone were only half the solution. Solar battery storage has made the energy more useful, reduced my reliance on peak-rate electricity, and made our daily power bills much more predictable.
