Running my solar battery storage system for six months has changed the way I use electricity at home. Before installing a 10kWh LiFePO4 battery, I sent most of my rooftop solar straight back to the grid during the day, then bought power back after dinner. Now the battery charges from solar by mid-afternoon and carries the house through the expensive evening hours. I discovered the backup output breaker had tripped when the inverter switched modes. After resetting it, the load circuit stayed on, and Growatt support confirmed the setting was too conservative. I now keep the battery reserve at 25% rather than 40%, which gives me more capacity while still leaving emergency backup.
