Evenings used to be the most frustrating part of my electricity bill. Our solar panels produced plenty during the day, but once the sun went down, the house started pulling expensive grid power. After installing a lithium solar battery system, that pattern changed noticeably.
I chose a setup built around the exact phrase “deye 100kw,” although my home installation is configured for my actual household load rather than using the full commercial-scale capacity. The important part for me was having a reliable Deye inverter, battery storage, and energy monitoring that worked together without requiring constant attention.
On sunny days, the battery usually reaches full charge by mid-afternoon. It then carries the refrigerator, internet equipment, lights, and heat-pump water heater through the evening. I also run the dishwasher and laundry after dinner without feeling that every appliance is using peak-rate electricity. Before the battery, those hours were when my bill climbed fastest. My monthly bill has dropped by roughly 35 to 45 percent, depending on weather and how much heating or cooling we use.
The most useful feature has been the automatic peak-hour discharge. I do not have to remember when rates change; the battery management system handles it. I still keep a small reserve for outages, which gives me more confidence during storms.
I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. The battery stopped discharging one evening even though the monitoring app showed plenty of stored energy. I checked the inverter first and found that the backup reserve setting had accidentally been raised during a software update. Lowering it restored normal operation within a few minutes. That experience taught me to check settings before assuming the solar battery had failed.
So far, the storage system has been less about dramatic independence and more about quietly using my own solar power at the right time. The biggest win is seeing far less grid consumption after sunset, especially during expensive peak hours.
