3kva inverter

Keeping my old electricity bills under control became nearly impossible once our utility introduced time-of-use pricing. I installed a lithium solar battery alongside a 3kva inverter last summer, and the biggest difference has been what happens between 5pm and 10pm.

Before the battery, I would come home, switch on the kettle, induction cooker, television, and fans, and watch the meter race upward. Now my rooftop solar panels charge the battery during the day, and the inverter automatically carries most evening loads after sunset. I still buy some grid electricity, but my highest-priced usage has dropped noticeably. My monthly bill used to average about $180 in summer; lately it has been closer to $105, despite changing weather and habits.

The setting I appreciate most is the battery reserve. I keep 25% capacity untouched for outages, rather than squeezing every last kilowatt-hour out of it. During one storm, the grid failed for roughly three hours. I heard the inverter click over, the lights flickered once, and everything continued normally. That was more reassuring than I expected. I now trust the backup power far more.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment in January. The battery stopped discharging at night because the monitoring app showed an “over-temperature” warning, even though the garage felt cool. I checked the manual, cleared leaves blocking the ventilation area, and restarted the system. The warning disappeared after about ten minutes. I later learned the battery had warmed itself during a charging cycle, so I adjusted the charge schedule slightly.

What I like most is that solar storage works quietly in background. I check the app and compare bills. This combination has made evenings cheaper without demanding much attention from me.
