0nce I installed a lithium battery storage unit beside my inverter, my evening electricity routine changed almost immediately. During sunny afternoons, my solar panels now charge the battery instead of sending everything back to the grid. After sunset, the house runs from stored power, and I notice the difference most during peak hours.
Before adding storage, our utility bill regularly jumped when cooking dinner, running the heat pump, and charging devices after work. Now the inverter quietly switches to battery output, so those expensive evening kilowatt-hours largely disappear from my bill.

I checked the obvious things first: the breaker, cable connections, and the battery temperature. A loose communication cable was the culprit; reseating it restored normal readings within minutes. That small scare taught me to keep the installation manual and a spare cable nearby. It also reminded me that battery management software is useful, but basic hands-on checks still matter.
After six months, the lithium iron phosphate solar battery has held capacity well, with no noticeable drop in overnight runtime for my household.
