4kWh of battery storage has changed how I use my rooftop solar system. Before installing a 24v server rack battery, I was buying expensive electricity every evening, even though my panels produced plenty during the day.
The main difference is that I now charge the battery from about 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., when solar output is strongest, then run the house from stored energy after dinner. My inverter automatically switches over when the utility rate rises, so I rarely notice anything except the quieter meter readings.

The app showed state of charge, solar generation, and battery discharge, which helped me adjust the schedule after the first week.
My one hiccup happened during a hot afternoon. The battery stopped charging at 92% while the panels were still producing. I thought the unit was faulty, but the monitoring screen showed a temperature limit. The closet had become warm. I added an exhaust fan and cleared a blocked vent; charging returned to normal the next day.
That experience taught me that battery placement matters as much as capacity. I also learned not to obsess over reaching 100% every day; preserving capacity and keeping the system cool feels more practical. For my home, this 24v server rack battery has been a useful way to turn midday solar into dependable evening power.
