2am power cuts used to make me regret buying solar panels without storage. I installed a 10kWh LiFePO4 battery last spring, and the biggest difference has been using my own solar energy after sunset instead of buying expensive grid electricity during peak hours.
My installer mounted the battery in the garage beside the inverter and connected it to the existing solar system. That experience made me appreciate having clear app alerts instead of discovering a problem from a high bill.
The system has been quiet, automatic, and less demanding than I expected. I still check the solar battery app a few times a week, especially before cloudy weather, but daily use feels almost invisible. That, to me, is the real success: cheaper evenings without changing our routine.
