Every evening, I used to watch our electricity meter climb as the dishwasher, heat pump, and laundry competed for power. I found the reserve setting had been left at 30%, so the system was protecting backup capacity rather than covering every load. Lowering that reserve to 20% made a noticeable difference, while still leaving enough for our refrigerator and internet router during a short outage.
