Powering my home with a solar battery has changed the way I think about electricity bills. I installed an spf5000tl inverter with a 10kWh lithium battery last autumn, and the biggest difference showed up during peak hours.
Before the battery, our utility company charged noticeably more between 4pm and 9pm. I used to come home, turn on the oven, heating, and lights, and watch the meter climb. It is not perfect every month—cloudy weather and winter heating still push costs up—but the peak-rate savings are obvious.

I did have one small scare in December. The battery stopped discharging, although the app showed plenty of stored energy. I found the inverter had switched to grid mode after a outage. Resetting the operating mode and tightening one communication cable fixed it, and the system has behaved normally since. That moment reminded me that solar storage is not maintenance-free; I now check the battery status and keep the firmware current.
For my household, the value is practical rather than flashy. We are using less grid electricity, getting better self-consumption from our solar system, and avoiding the most expensive evening power. I am considering adding another battery before next summer, but even at its current size, the setup has already made our energy costs easier to predict.
