After six months with a home solar battery, the biggest change has been how little attention I pay to peak electricity rates. I lowered the reserve to 15% after considering our outage history, and now I get slightly more daily bill savings without feeling unprotected.
The setup has also made our solar panels more useful. Previously, excess midday production went back to the grid for a modest credit. Now I keep much more of that energy at home.
