The battery also keeps our refrigerator, router, and a few lights running during short outages, which is reassuring in winter storms.

I did have one minor troubleshooting moment. One morning the monitoring app showed the battery at 18% even though the sun had been out for hours. I checked the inverter and found a loose communication cable after cleaning around the equipment. Reseating it restored normal charging within minutes. Since then I have added a monthly inspection to my calendar and keep the battery room dry and reasonably cool.

I am especially glad I chose a modular solar energy storage setup rather than chasing the largest capacity immediately.
